The Sound of Music

The Sound of Music, the movie.
Mackenzie was sitting at the table (not eating her supper!)
singing "bring us back to Do, Do, Do"
As in "Do a deer, a female dear.
Re, a drop of Golden sun,
Mi, a name I call myself,..."
Grandma would be so Proud!
Mackenzie asks to watch the movie often.

What a bummer!

A Bit Concerned

Mackenzie is a tad worried.
She was told about the drill they use to get the cast off.
Post Script: She screamed worse getting the cast off than getting it on!
She does NOT like powertools.
She screamed the WHOLE time they drilled off the cast!
I have NEVER heard her scream like that.
It just breaks a momma's heart.
I held her tight and tried not to cry myself.
She asked if we could Please "get out of this place" as soon as they finished.
The bone still looks a tad bent,
but the doctor says it will stretch out in a few months.
She needs some muscle and fat on there too.

Mackenzie's First Broken Bone

Just a few more hours!
Mackenzie did great.
She only asked if it was time to take her cast off
ONCE!
Right at the half-way mark.
She is truely a trooper!

So Much News

There is so much going on here. How can I ever keep you up to date?
We have just received and sent out another team.
This time, a Medical Team to Rosita.
Granny Viola could not go.
Her muscles are protesting right now.
Grampa is gone again. He was not even here for 18 hours!
Just long enough to do laundry.
(of course, he did not do his own laundry!)
Hazards of Mission Life.
Luke stayed standing on his own for a few seconds this week.
The airport weighed him at 21 pounds.
Yes, the airport is our "official" scale.
I won't tell you what it said I weigh,
but I will say I am at my goal!
Go, MOMMY!
Luke only has those two bottom teeth still!
I can't really complain.
Daddy says Luke won't get more teeth 'cuz he still wants Mommy Milk!
I don't mind!

Work and Witness Teams

Work and Witness Teams come to Puerto Cabezas Nicaragua to share the Good News of Jesus Christ. A team left this morning and another team arrived on the same plane! We are back to back with teams for 4 consecutive weeks. And that is only the teams that come to this side of the river. Teams also come to Honduras to do work there.
What do we do?
First and foremost, we tell, and show, the villagers the Unconditional Love of Jesus Christ.
How do we do that?
We assist pastors in training and relocating to pastor other new churches. We train pastors in discipleship, mentoring, and animal care. We assist new congregations in building their first permanent structure. We take teams to villages far away to show the villagers the first ever film in their Heart Language, Miskito, the JESUS film. We do medical clinics. We assist in a Seed Program to help local villagers protect their seed until the next planting season. Our presence shows we care!
What is our Goal?
To promote a sense of ownership of the Gospel of Jesus Christ. To move the Miskito people in such a way they GO and TELL.
Why do we do what we do?
The book of Matthew in the Holy Bible tells us: "Go ye therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit" Matthew 28:19
These were Jesus' words to the world, a commandment.

Jeremy, Summer, Mackenzie, and Luke
Christmas 2005

Great is the Lord!

The Lord is Great! Jeremy is out in the jungle with a team. After an incident involving a bridge, a cliff, lots of mud, the tractor, the dump truck, a chain and the pick-up truck, he called to say he loved me and he was ok. Praise the Lord for his angels watching over us.
Pictures will be posted after he gets back.

First time!

This is our first post on a blog. What do you think. Pictures and stories will be abundant. Just getting started. I loved Corey's and Becky's, I just had to have one of my own.

Love to hear from everyone.
